ARTS EDUCATION

YOU CAN DRUM - YOU CAN DANCE - YOU CAN SING

Discover the joys of drumming, dancing, and singing together in the global village. Get in touch with the primal beat of the drums. Let your body move to the irresistible groove. Let your voice be heard as we sing out in celebration of life.

At RhythmJoy, we make it happen. We provide instruction in traditional arts from around the world in a supportive community atmosphere. You can learn to play the West African djembe, dance the Brazilian samba, and sing the Balinese monkey chant.

We offer classes, workshops, artist-residencies, and more. We provide the instruments and the expertise. We have programs for all ages and abilities.

Percussion and vocal music are accessible to all.

Traditional forms provide opportunities for everyone to participate. As they say in Africa, "If you can walk, you can dance; if you can talk, you can sing." I would add, "If you can clap your hands, you can play music."

The wisdom of our ancestors has been passed down to us through the arts

In traditional cultures around the world, people gather to sing, dance, and play music. Everyone is included. There are simple steps and fun songs, simple rhythms with easy parts. There is also room to grow. There are more challenging dances, trickier rhythms, longer songs.
